The 3Q air purifiers have a lot going for them:
- electrostatic collector rod to get the dust (generates small quantities of ozone)
- charcoal filter to eliminate odors
- UV lamp to kill germs
- blue light night lamp
- 2 levels of operation
- easy to take apart and clean
- well built
- good price when compared with equivalent products
In fact, when compared to Sharper Image’s Ionic Breeze, you get this for about half the price of the higher end product. Of course, the 3Q’s are a lot smaller than the more expensive item but, still, you do get more for less with the 3Q.
The only issue I have with the 3Q’s operation so far is the relatively loud fan noise when compared to the Ionic Breeze which runs without a fan. It’s not VERY loud but you can hear it.
One note on the 3-year warranty: forget about it. You are expected to send over the defective item at your own expense AND enclose a check for it to be shipped back to you after it’s fixed so, if the 3Q ever breaks you’re probably better off buying a new one.
Overall rating – it’s a positive 4-star.
